Artist State­ment

Expe­ri­enc­ing sen­su­al enjoy­ments, love, and free­dom are cru­cial to my artis­tic work.

I love and main­ly paint the sea and the sky – both, espe­cial­ly in their vari­a­tions – tra­di­tion­al sym­bols of emo­tions and a roman­tic under­stand­ing of the world and the self. The sea and the wind are the soft­ness, that can be felt on the skin.

Work­ing with the brush requires a lot of finesse and soft­ness that can be seen in the paint­ing and suit these sen­su­al motifs.

Being at the sea­side pro­vokes a feel­ing of free­dom and art, to me, means a lib­er­a­tion from the imper­a­tive to func­tion in a world full of rules and to adapt to con­for­mi­ty. Art can be regard­ed as a feel­ing; sim­i­lar to the feel­ing one has when swim­ming in the open water.
